Bob Hoskins


Robert William Bob Hoskins was an English actor, known for playing Cockneys and gangsters. His work included lead roles in The Long Good Friday , Mona Lisa , Who Framed Roger Rabbit , Mermaids , and Super Mario Bros. , and supporting performances in Brazil , Hook , Nixon , Mrs. Henderson Presents , A Christmas Carol , Made in Dagenham , and Snow White and the Huntsman .

Hoskins was born in Bury St Edmunds, West Suffolk, onOctober 1942 to Robert Hoskins, a bookkeeper and lorry driver, and Elsie Hoskins, a cook and nursery school teacher. His grandmother was a Romani. From two weeks old, he was brought up in Finsbury Park, London. He left school at the age ofwith a single OLevel and worked as a porter, lorry driver, and window cleaner. He started on a 3year accountancy course, but dropped out.
